MIPOL2024 in a nutshell


ORAL SESSIONS


  • The opening ceremony will take place on June 5th at 10:30 AM at the Auditorium of the University of Milan, via Festa del Perdono 7 with a welcome speech by the Director of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Milan.

  • The official language of the congress is English.

  • The oral presentations will consist of keynotes, invited lectures and short oral communications.

  • Keynotes will last 40 minutes.

  • Invited lectures will last 20 minutes.

  • Oral communications will last 15 minutes.

  • All oral presentations will include a few minutes of discussion.

  • The closing ceremony has been scheduled for June 7th at about 05:30 PM.


POSTER SESSION


  • Posters will be affixed in the hall of the auditorium for the entire congress duration. The preferred poster size is A0 (841 × 1189 mm x mm). At lunchtime on both days, at least one of the poster Authors should stand by each poster to answer questions from the audience.

  • Poster presenters can exhibit a PDF copy of their poster on the "Poster communications" webpage.

  • Posters submitted by Young Scientists, that is, Ph.D. students and post-doc fellows whose Ph.D. has been completed within the last 4 years are eligible to participate, upon request, in the Poster Award competition. Candidates will be allotted a few minutes more for being interviewed by the Jury members.

  • To become eligible to participate in the Poster Award competition, applicants must tick the appropriate box on the registration form (see Registration page).

  • Young Scientists who plan to participate in the MIPOL2024 Poster Award competition are kindly invited to submit to the Scientific Committee (mipol@unimi.it) within May 21st a PowerPoint presentation of 4-6 slides including the poster title and a brief summary of the poster contents. Only those participants who will submit this document will be considered for further evaluation.

  • The three best poster communications will receive a € 250 prize kindly provided by our sponsors. The winners will be selected based on the following criteria: excellence in research, clarity in presentation, and knowledge of the subject demonstrated in the discussion with the Jury.

  • The announcement and the bestowal of the poster awards will take place in front of all congress attendees at the end of the event on June 9th.


OTHER INFORMATION


The book of abstracts will be published on ResearchGate. The congress content will be disseminated through the use of social media, in particular Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Attendees will be requested to acknowledge the publication of their pictures or of their presentations.
