Current position: PhD Student E-mail: silvia.voci@studenti.unicz.it Phone +39 3336789361 **Education and Professional Experience** 23-05-2019: Master Degree in Pharmacy, University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia” with a thesis entitled “Influenza di composti modello sui profili Reologici di idrogeli a base di Zeina” 2019-ongoing: PhD student in Life Sciences (CV in Biotechnological Sciences), University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia”; **Research topics** The research activity is mainly focused on the modulation of the biopharmaceutical properties of anticancer drugs by their encapsulation in biocompatible colloidal systems. Various biomaterials (polymers, proteins) have been used in order to increase the half-life, therapeutic activity and the efficacious dosage of many antitumor compounds, decreasing their side effects. Other research interests are based on the physico-chemical characterization of proteinbased gels through passive and dynamic rheology. **Professional skills** - Preparation of polymeric (natural/synthetic) nanoparticles; - Characterization of pharmaceutical formulations: - colloidal mean sizes: Dynamic Light Scattering technique (DLS) (Zetasizer Nano ZS, Malvern Panalytical, United Kingdom); - zeta potential: electrophoretic mobility; - physical stability: multiple light scattering technique, (Turbiscan Lab® Expert) (Formulaction, Toulouse, France); - development of freeze-dried systems; - entrapment efficiency of compounds and drug release profiles: (ultra)centrifugation techniques, dialysis method, spectrophotometric analyses; - Rheological characterization of materials by means of diffusive wave spectroscopy (Rheolaser Master, Formulaction, I’Union, Toulouse, France) and dynamic technique (Kinexus rheometer, Malvern Panalytical United Kingdom). **Professional Societies** Italian Association of Pharmaceutical Technology and Law (ADRITELF); Italian Chemical Society (SCI); Controlled Release Society (CRS). **List of publications** 1.
