A milestone edition comes to an end: MIPOL2026 has successfully concluded!

Researchers from academia, industry and research institutions gathered in Milan to present and discuss the latest advances in polymer science, spanning sustainable polymers and circular economy, bioplastics, polymer synthesis and advanced characterization, nanocomposites and functional materials, polymeric biomaterials and nanomedicine, water purification, flame-retardant polymers, self-healing composites, polymer crystallization and rheology.

MIPOL2026 in numbers:

  • More than 80 participants
  • 11 countries represented: Belgium, Brazil, China, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
  • 3 Keynote Lectures
  • 21 Invited Lectures
  • 23 Oral Presentations
  • 10 Poster Presentations

One of the highlights of this anniversary edition was the MIPOL Young Symposium, dedicated to PhD students and early-career researchers. Continuing a tradition that is particularly close to our hearts, the Mario Malinconico Award has recognized the best oral presentation delivered by a young scientist. We will soon announce the winner in our next post!

A heartfelt thank you to all speakers, participants, session chairs, reviewers, financial supporters, and members of the Organizing and Scientific Committees. Your enthusiasm, scientific excellence and commitment made MIPOL2026 a truly memorable event.

Finally, our deepest gratitude goes to the colleagues of the Department of Chemistry and to the many young collaborators who worked behind the scenes before and throughout the congress. Their commitment, energy and countless hours of work transformed months of preparation into a successful and memorable event. MIPOL2026 is as much their achievement as it is ours. See you at the next Milan Polymer Days!
